Share
This flavorful fish dish is marinated with a fragrant blend of Grill & Fry Masala, fresh ginger-garlic paste, and tangy lemon juice. The carom seeds (ajwain) and salt rubbed onto the fish give it an aromatic kick, while the marinade infuses the fish with deep, rich flavors. You can either grill or fry the marinated fish to get a crispy, golden crust. It’s perfect for a casual dinner or special occasion!
Ingredients:
-
1 kg fish fillets/steaks (your choice of fish like tilapia, salmon, or cod)
-
Salt (to taste)
-
1–2 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
-
3–4 tbsp Grill & Fry Masala (store-bought or homemade)
-
2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
-
2 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions:
-
Prep the Fish:
-
Wash the fish fillets or steaks thoroughly. Pat dry with paper towels.
-
Rub the fish with salt and carom seeds. Let it rest for 1 hour. This helps the fish firm up and absorb the flavors of the carom seeds.
-
-
Make the Marinade:
-
In a bowl, combine Grill & Fry Masala, ginger-garlic paste, and lemon juice. Mix them into a smooth paste.
-
-
Marinate the Fish:
-
After the fish has rested for 1 hour, wash it to remove excess salt and carom seeds.
-
Apply the marinade generously to the fish fillets or steaks, making sure they are well-coated on all sides.
-
Cover the marinated fish and let it sit for 3–4 hours or refrigerate overnight for even more flavor.
-
-
Grilling or Frying:
-
Grill: Preheat your grill to medium heat. Place the marinated fish on the grill and cook for 4–5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
-
Fry: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Carefully place the marinated fish in the pan and fry for 3–4 minutes on each side until the fish is crispy and golden.
-
-
Serve: Once cooked, remove the fish from the grill or pan. Serve hot with a side of sautéed vegetables, rice, or a refreshing salad. Garnish with fresh lemon wedges and coriander leaves.
Enjoy your delicious, aromatic grilled or fried fish!
